Delete Asset Classification
Classification records are referenced throughout the system and are directly linked to any existing assets of the given classification. It is unusual to delete classification records from the system unless they were created in error and not used to create assets. Rather than delete a classification record, we recommend that you make the record inactive on the Classification Details page. This will remove the record from lookups and filters, but continue to make it available from the Classification List.
When a classification record is not associated with other data in the system, the record can be permanently deleted from Maintenance Connection.
Deleting a classification record will also delete any records below that record in the Classification hierarchy.
The process for deleting records is similar for all modules of Maintenance Connection. Deleting a record permanently removes the record from Maintenance Connection. You can also delete multiple records in a single step. Refer to Delete Records to learn how.
